As of 1940, modern Brazilian architects began incorporating certain attributes and aesthetic sophistication to the structural composition of the columns designed in their projects. From an aesthetic, technical/structural and fine arts perspective, Oscar Niemeyer, João Batista, Villanova Artigas, Paulo Mendes da Rocha, Affonso Eduardo Reidy, and Rui Ohtake successully transformed colums into art.
 Patricia Golombek
The work of Patricia Golombek is an analytical study of architecture; the structures and solutions implemented by architects around the world. The artist's architecture allows him to translate the language used by architects into visual representations of their creative processes.
