In our Pan American Art Projects space in Little Haiti, we will exhibit works by both artist from a historic context in the trajectory of their work entitled Kcho and Diago: Early Works, where we will show works in different sizes and mediums from earlier periods of the artists’ careers furthering their discourse about a more precise reading of reality, despite the divergence
between their concepts.
In the case of Kcho (Alexis Leyva Machado), we will exhibit examples of his large scale works on paper and canvases which in5854218 many cases serve almost as fully realized studies that help him flush out his ideas into large scale sculptures and installations. Through this creative process one can see the evolution of his conceptual aesthetic through different paths by experimenting with a variety of mediums.
In the case of Juan Roberto Diago, works on canvas (collages), metal and wood, etc., pertaining to different moments in his creative process will be exhibited, allowing the viewer to have a brief overview in which we can identify examples of the evolution of his work and how the materials he uses play an essential role in how his ideas are manifested.
