MARCH and Parker Gallery are pleased to announce a joint presentation featuring Thornton Dial (1928-2016) and Joe Minter (b. 1943) at this year’s edition of Art Basel Miami Beach. The galleries will present works by both artists spanning from their collective beginnings in the late 1980s to the time of Dial’s passing in 2016, demonstrating the aesthetic and thematic links be- tween the two and establishing a conversation that was silently held over decades. The artists knew one another, having been introduced by Lon- nie Holley and William Arnett, but did not have a close friendship, rather a mutual respect. They worked in parallel universes separated only by a few miles, responding to nearly identical circumstances
