Desire Moheb-Zandi placeholder icon
abstract: Desire Moheb-Zandi is a contemporary artist known for her intricate textile-based works that explore themes of identity, memory, and cultural heritage. German-born with Iranian roots, she blends traditional weaving techniques with modern aesthetics. Her dynamic, abstract pieces bridge diverse cultures and artistic traditions. Moheb-Zandi's art features vibrant colors and textures, showcasing her deep engagement with craft and textiles' tactile nature. Her work resonates with both personal and universal narratives, inviting viewers to contemplate the intersection of tradition and modernity. Desire Moheb-Zandi *1990 in Berlin lives and works in Paris. She’s the granddaughter of Uzbeks, and grew up in Turkey, the birth country of part of her family (the other being Iranian). She studied at the BBA Koc University in Istanbul and then moved to New York to study at Parsons School of Design.

October 31 > November 2 2025 Artissima is Italy’s most important contemporary art fair. Since its establishment in 1994, it has combined the presence of an international market with a focus on experimentation and research.
Galleries from around the world participate every year. In addition to the 4 flaghisp sections (Main Section, Monologue/Dialogue, New Entries, Art Spaces & Editions), Artissima is also composed of 3 curated sections, headed by a board of international curators and museum directors, devoted to emerging artists (Present Future), to the rediscovery of the pioneers of contemporary art (Back to the Future) and to the drawing (Disegni).
