The Costantini Art Gallery has waited three years to be able to propose a personal exhibition of Joanpere Massana, time that the artist has used to complete the search of his latest series of works titled "The Book of the skin" which premiered at the castle in Le Perthus Bellegarde in France, with the exhibition "Frontier: le livre de la peau" which ended in the fall of 2014.
The latter route is dedicated to the Spanish artist's skin, with a double meaning: the skin as a distinctive and that the borderline between two distinct realities.
The works, be they paintings, tables or works on paper, are characterized by several layers of painting, from scraps of cloth and paper pulp that blend painting, handwriting and the seams of the support itself, not to mention the inclusion of disparate materials which have always been one of the peculiarities of the work of the Catalan artist.
The book Skin Joanpere Massana, compared with previous cycles, more accentuated the narrative element in his works, in fact, objects, symbols, signs and words, we refer to a single story about the magic of the common things, in which, however, lies the mystery of life itself.
"... Massana constantly traces the relationship between man and nature as a box full of esperiernze vital. A mutant nature, full of possibilities, where everything changes, everything flows remaining, however, quiet. Insects, leaves, animals, seeds, plants ... create a body created by a creator cuorioso, observer of the world that places new ways to understand and comprehend what surrounds us. It 'clear, then, that this great catalog of images of nature grouped in time, leaving marks and footprints that appear unconsciously, but at certain times emerge in a kind of inner journey that follows the trail lived through the perceptions, looks, places , feelings ... this appropriation of fragments of reality (seeds, leaves, trunks) is a way of referring to the complexity of the universe and the basic approach to consciousness. ...
