V. Erice, o.T.
A human work is simply the long journey to find in the twists
and turns of art the two or three great and simple images that first
opened our hearts.
Albert Camus, “The Wrong Side and the Right Side”, 1937
The exhibition “Exploring Origins” will show works by various photographers who have explored artistic forms of representa - tion and expression, thereby addressing fundamental issues of photography.
The presentation comprises a variety of photographical positions with diverse techniques (chemical processes, camera obscura, big polaroids, photograms, photography without film, solarisation, and other processes and methods), thus allowing us to gain an understanding of photography in the times before the digitization of photography.
The technology will never be neutral either in content or in expres - sion but will depend, instead, on the discursive and aesthetic organisation of the artist who uses it.
