Booth 7B16
Perrotin is pleased to return to ARCOmadrid with a dual solo booth of artworks by Cristina BanBan and Jean-Michel Othoniel alongside works by several artists from our roaster.
The fair marks Spanish born painter Cristina BanBan's first showing in Spain since her departure in 2012. Here, BanBan debuts three of her signature monumental canvases, incorporating subtle elements of Spanish iconography and identity. Rooted in art historical contexts, the expressive and commanding nudes are a continuation of the artist's explorations of the female form and psychology.
Additionally, Jean-Michel Othoniel presents a special installation composed of a Blue River and a set of Noeuds Sauvages. Works from this series were shown in various exhibitions such as, recently, the Seoul Museum of Art (2022), Le Petit Palais in Paris (2021), l'Arsenal art contemporain in Montréal (2021), and the CCK in Buenos Aires (2019). Made of mirrored glass beads, the Noeuds Sauvages series poetically illustrate Othoniel's fascination for the observation of infinitely multiplied reflections.
The booth also features works by Iván Argote, Lee Bae, Sophie Calle, Johan Creten, Jean-Philippe Delhomme, Elmgreen & Dragset, Gabriel de la Mora, Lionel Estève, Jens Fänge, Bernard Frize, Laurent Grasso, Hans Hartung, Thilo Heinzmann, Gregor Hildebrandt, Eddie Martinez, Barry McGee, Takashi Murakami, Pieter Vermeersch and Jesús Rafael Soto.
