Titled A Creative Uprising, the showcase explores the many forms that forces of resistance take across the Indian Subcontinent. Where cultural and religious traditions were once grounding and enriching, today, dissenting interpretations of what South Asian modernity means manifest in measures of control and coagulation rather than celebration. Our selected artists beset their oeuvres in discourse around the contemporary realities of identity and experience following those that are most impacted by shifting philosophical grounds. The presentation will include painting, photography, and mixed media works across scales of significance.
