24. September > 12. November, 2022

We are pleased to invite you to our upcoming vernissage of 'Weltentanz' on Saturday, September 24th at 6 pm. For the sixth time, our glass door will open for Monika Thiele's unique works of contemporary art and this time everything will revolve around the theme of 'Weltentanz' (the dance of the worlds).
I times, when fixed structures and traditions are being broken up and new values and views are shaping our world, the multiple award-winning artist Monika Thiele would like to show her own view of the world and dance with the visitor through her observation of the world. These come to light with impressive mixed techniques. Figures and costumes from Oskar Schlemmer's "Triadic Ballet" are currently the initial inspiration for Thiele's visual worlds. These sway over Thuringian squares from where she's from. Thread works created with time-consuming passion and poetic-magical compositions with textile await you. With a selection of her latest works, one or two familiar things will also be brought up, resulting in a performance that can only be seen in Baden-Baden from September 24th to November 12th, 2022.
Monika Thiele
Her different approaches, including fragmentary interpretations of world events, now bring the career and artistic development up Monika Thiele had the past years.
Using a wide variety of materials such as paper, fabrics and acrylic paint, she merges her artistic and technical technique to a unique oeuvre. The embroidery work, the silhouette paper work and the composition of overlay, transferring and combining find a harmonious unit in impressive color worlds, which expands the pictorial space and appeals to your own imagination. One or another personal association could be evoked. This symbiosis and simultaneous separation leads to a struggle between the individual motifs, which are inextricably linked. The gaze dances across the works and finds its own way through Monika Thiele's mystical stories.
The artist, who has already been exhibited at the Venice Biennale, will be present during the vernissage and invites you to discussions and talks about her artistic work. At the opening on Saturday, September 24th, the Lord Mayor of Baden-Baden, Mr. Dietmar Späth, will address a greeting.
A comprehensive hardcover catalog by Monika Thiele will be published again in 2022 to complete the exhibition. It can be purchased at any time at the vernissage, during our open days and via e-mail.
As always, entrance is free.
Accompanying works from the GALERIE SUPPER program can be seen in the showroom, including Monika Taffet, Dietmar Brixy, Rene Dantes, Rayk Goetze, Tino Geiss, Andreas Wachter, Mike MacKeldey, Anja Warzecha, Patricia Thoma and Sebastian Wehrle.
