For the 2022 edition of Frieze New York at The Shed, James Cohan is pleased to present a solo booth of new work by Eamon Ore-Giron. The fair is open to the public from May 19 through May 22, with a preview by invitation on Wednesday, May 18.
All of the paintings in this special presentation are part of Ore-Giron's ongoing Infinite Regress series. Within these works, the artist's totemic visual language is subject to an ongoing process of reformulation. Simple shapes shift in and out of graphic fields of gold, and each painting in the series is a variation on the ones that came before, suggesting a trajectory of future iterations. Painting with highly-pigmented flashe on raw brown linen, Ore-Giron's abstractions recall religious iconography, sacred landscapes, and celestial bodies.
