Sabrina Amrani is pleased to announce the gallery participation in Art Dubai Modern 2022, with the presentation Chant Avedissian: Go East, young man!, in the sector of the fair curated by Sam Bardaouil and Till Fellrath.
The presentation is a selection of works by the late artist Chant Avedissian, as a journey through the evolution in his practice. From his early photography in the 1970's to the use of textile, in a practice influenced by other disciplines such as fashion or architecture.
Chant Avedissian: Go East, young man! will be composed of four stages of the artist's practice embodied in several works: an early photograph from the late 70's, two textile works from the 80's-90's, and several works from the Icons of the Nile series executed in the 90's.
The exhibition highlights how the artist evolved and used different mediums to create his oeuvre along the years, while it addresses the different influences in his practice.
