For Frieze Los Angeles 2022, Southard Reid is delighted to present works by Joanna Piotrowska from her 'Shelter' and 'Self Defence' series'.
Frieze LA will be the first presentation outside of exhibition contexts and institutional collections, of Piotrowska’s work in specially conceived groups. The groupings reflect the choreographic nature of her practice and manner of installation, utilising positioning and size differentiation to highlight the relationships between selected imagery and accentuating the psycho-physical themes and affect of the work. It will also include the first showing of a work from the 'Shelter' series at a further enlarged scale of 130 x 160 cm / 51 x 63 inches, as a “unique” edition (realised as 1 plus 1 artists’s proof).
