Sean Kelly Gallery is delighted to welcome Frieze New York to Hudson Yards, where the gallery has been located since 2012. For the first in-person art fair in the US in over a year, the gallery will present a dynamic selection of painting, sculpture, photography, and works on paper. Our booth will feature work by the gallery's international roster of artists including a sculpture from Antony Gormley's GRIDWORK series which explores the power of shifting scale and investigates the relationship of the human body to space; a large cutout photograph by Jose Dávila, whose solo exhibition will be on view concurrently at the gallery; a new plastic painting by Hugo McCloud which addresses issues concerning the economics of labor, geopolitics and the environmental impact of plastic; Sam Moyer's intimately scaled painting and sculpture focused on connection, contemplation, and exploring the boundaries of the relationship between maker and material; a painting by Janaina Tschäpe, who will have her second solo exhibition at the gallery this summer, comprising exuberant, dreamlike, abstract landscapes that blur perceptions of illusion and reality; one of Dawoud Bey's street portraits, a series of photographs he made from 1988 to 1991 of African Americans in the streets of various US cities, Bey's major exhibition is currently on view at the Whitney Museum of American Art; and a new work by Idris Khan, who engages densely layered imagery to construct a narrative that speaks to the metaphysical collapse of time into single moments. In addition, we will present important new pieces by Julian Charrière, Candida Höfer, Ilse D'Hollander, Callum Innes, Shahzia Sikander, Alec Soth and Wu Chi-Tsung.
