Abstractions from the Heavens
VIRTUAL EXHIBITION
Featured Artists: Kevin Champeny, Didem Yagci, Shima Shanti, Stefanie Stark, Gina Plunder, Anna Franklin
Perhaps it is quite normal to feel as if your head is in the clouds while viewing the works of Kevin Champeny? Kevin's trademark, mind-bending wall mosaic style is ever-present in the 50 Shades - My Blue Heaven piece which takes center stage at the forefront of the Steidel Gallery's Abstraction from the Heavens Exhibition, part of the inaugural Hamptons Virtual Art Fair. In addition, we find the bedazzling work of the wildly talented Turkey-based artist Didem Yagci, whose meticulously carved and painted plywood 3-dimensional designs are quite literally the stairways to heaven. Steidel would also be amiss without the soothing encaustic beeswax and flame artworks of Shima Shanti. Shanti's Water in Motion Series oozes the paradisal Southern California beach vibes which reverberate so swimmingly within the shores of South Florida as well as the East End of Long Island. We also welcome back the Washington DC native Stefanie Stark, whose lofty abstract works encompass simply divine brushstrokes; and the ever-engaging Germany-based Gina Plunder, as well as, the Hamptons own award-winning, Anna Franklin.
