Belenius will be presenting an array of contemporary Swedish artists: starting with Fia Backström’s (b.1970)where she worked with analogue and digital photographic techniques simultaneously, pulling apart the negative and positive of news images sourced from the internet, displaying the layers with the paraglyph printing technique. And over to Anastasia Ax’s (b.1979) works inspired by the idea of construction and its deconstruction and the countervailing forces released due to and as well before, during and after the process. On to Julia Peirone's (b.1973) photographic portraits of young girls that are deprived of the disguise of gestures and facial expressions and positioned in a kind of nakedness of uncontrollability, and celebrated for the strength of their vulnerability. And finally arriving at Linnéa Sjöberg’s (b.1983) embodying of the subject of her interest to the point where no distinction can be made between her work and her persona. The remnants of her actions are documented here through textile works and objects.
